This emblem represents Artilleriet (the Swedish Artillery) a branch with deep roots in Sweden’s military history. Swedish field artillery traces back to 1541, and a modern, organized artillery force was formally established by royal decree on 17 September 1623, later developing into dedicated artillery regiments.
In the modern Swedish Armed Forces, artillery remains the long-range precision arm of the Army. Today, Sweden’s artillery units operate systems such as Archer (FH77BWL52) and focus on detecting and engaging targets at long distances with high precision capabilities currently centered around regiments such as A 9.
