Transportbåt Större (TpbS) – 200-båt

The Transportbåt Större, popularly known as the 200-båt, is a iconic Swedish Navy coastal transport vessel. Used extensively during the 1970s and 1980s, this craft played a vital role in troop and materiel transport in littoral operations — and served as a landing craft for the elite Kustjägare (Swedish Coastal Rangers).

This collector-grade model captures every defining feature of the original vessel, from its distinctive bow doors designed for amphibious landings to the three-digit hull numbers beginning with "2" that gave the boat its legendary name.

Historical Background

  • Capacity: 40 fully equipped soldiers
  • Top speed: 20 knots
  • Bow ports for direct beach landings
  • Served the Swedish Navy until the 1990s, when replaced by Stridsbåt 90H and 90E
  • Remaining vessels now serve with the Hemvärnet (Home Guard) and in private ownership
  • Notable use: escort duties in the Gulf of Aden against piracy

Engine Variants (by production year)

  • First 6 units: 3× Scania D816 straight-eight turbodiesel
  • Mid-production: 3× Scania six-cylinder turbodiesel — 3×300 hp
  • Late production: 2× Volvo Penta six-cylinder — 2×450 hp

A piece of living Swedish military history — now immortalized in high-resolution 3D print.
