🇸🇪 Made In Sweden
The Livgardet (Swedish Life Guards) is one of Sweden’s most historic military units, with roots dating back to 1521, and ceremonial guard duty at the Royal Palace in Stockholm since 1523. Today, Livgardet combines tradition with modern capability and is often described as one of the world’s oldest military units still in active service.
Beyond its ceremonial role, Livgardet is a multi-function regiment with several units under its command, including the 13th Security Battalion and the 1st Military Police Battalion, alongside additional guard and support functions.
The emblem features “CG”, referencing the royal cypher tradition (a monarch’s monogram) and, in this context, Carl Gustaf a reminder of Livgardet’s longstanding connection to the Swedish Crown and its royal guard heritage.
