BMP-2 — The Soviet IFV That Set the Standard
The BMP-2 (Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty — “combat vehicle of the infantry”) is one of the defining armoured vehicles of the Cold War and beyond. Introduced in the 1980s as a direct evolution of the pioneering BMP-1, it brought heavier firepower, improved optics, and greater anti-armour capability to Soviet mechanized infantry — and went on to serve in conflicts across every continent. This premium 3D-printed scale model captures the iconic low-profile silhouette of the BMP-2 in precise, display-ready detail.
Where the BMP-1 of the 1960s broke new ground by combining troop transport with direct fire support, the BMP-2 refined the concept with a new two-man turret mounting a 30mm 2A42 autocannon and an AT-5 Spandrel anti-tank missile launcher — giving Soviet motorized rifle units a vehicle capable of engaging both infantry and armoured targets with equal confidence. Fully amphibious and air-transportable, it became the backbone of Warsaw Pact mechanized forces and was exported widely across the globe.
