J29 Tunnan - 3D Printed Scale Model

The Saab 29 Tunnan (J 29) was Sweden’s first aircraft designed from the start for jet propulsion, and it became a key early Cold War fighter for the Swedish Air Force.

The Tunnan was also among the first swept-wing jet fighters to be mass-produced in Western Europe. It first flew on 1 September 1948 and entered Swedish service in 1951.

Beyond Swedish service, the Tunnan also saw operational use during the UN mission in the Congo (ONUC). Sweden deployed J 29B aircraft as UN Fighter Squadron 22 (F 22), where they were used for air support and strike missions during the Congo Crisis in the early 1960s.
